A Tracked Link can be created to replace the link clicked to mark the completion of a goal such as a document download or form submission.

If your conversion point is the loading of a Thank You page following a form submission or shopping cart checkout, you may consider replacing the URL found in image source of an image on this page or adding a transparent pixel to the page with a Tracked Link e.g. <img src=”DestinationURLreplaced by a Tracked Link”>. This will tell you whether or not the page loaded thereby indicating a conversion occurred.

If you are tracking a document download you can create a tracked link for the document and then share it out through marketing automation. Anytime a user clicks to download the document a conversion is tracked. This is very useful when the document is hosted externally.
