Content types highlights the type of content you wish to create. Each workflow, therefore, is powered by the content type that's selected in the creative brief during a calendar item creation.
To open the new Workflow Editor, go to Settings > Workflow Editor
Once you’re in the Workflow Editor, you’ll quickly notice two tabs: Content Types and Workflow Stages.
- To create a new content type, click the create icon.
- Once you click the icon, a pop-up window will open.
Name: This is the text you want to use to label your content type
Text Color: This is where you can customize the text color of your content type (currently showing the text “CREATE A NEW CONTENT TYPE” in white). When you click the box, a pallet of colors will open; you can also input the hex code of your choice if that’s preferred
Background Color: This is where you can customize the background color of your content type (currently shown with a black background) ; you can also input the hex code of your choice if that’s preferred
Description: This is where you can input extra notes, verbiage, etc. that would best describe and identify this specific content type you’re creating
Enabled: If this box is checked, it would basically indicate that the content item you’re creating is ready for use. If it’s unchecked, then that means that this content item is still being created, but can be repurposed or used later when re-enabled
When done, click ‘Save’
If you want to cancel the action, click ‘Cancel'
Once you’ve created all the Content Types related to your marketing efforts, the next step is to learn how to attach a workflow to each. But before that, we’ll go over the options available on each existing content type first.
Each content type comes with 3 menu options:
This icon indicates that this content type has been disabled, therefore, it cannot be attached to a calendar item (content item). To enable a content item again, click the gear icon to edit its settings
The gear icon is where you can edit the specific content type. Click this icon and it will expand the options for you: from renaming the content type; changing the text and background color; and as well as to either enable/disable it from being used
The gear icon is where you can also Cancel what you’re doing; Save all the changes made; or Delete the current content type you’re editing
The expand icon opens the whole organization you have in your account. Some customers have multiple subgroups, and when this is clicked, it will expand the entire list of that customer’s account. They can then select which subgroup they would want this content type (with its defined workflows) to be applied* For more information on subgroups, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
This is where you would select a specific type of workflow for each group/subgroup you have. For this example, you will see how for our calendar (named Gen Global HQ Calendar) we’ve selected Social Workflow as our workflow of choice. The Content Type selected to have this workflow in this example is labeled EVENT.
This is a multi-select option, which is why you can select more than 1 type of workflow to be carried by this content type:
