Getting Started: The Editorial Calendar
Clicking '+Create' or by double clicking on any date in the editorial calendar will open up the new calendar item workflow.
The Creative Brief
Once you've double clicked/hit 'create', you'll be redirected to draft new calendar item. Here you'll be able to fill out the creative brief on the left and see the associated workflow on the right.
The workflow will change based on the content type you create.
The creative brief can be customized per calendar to be associated with the appropriate fields that your team uses. Each field can be required or optional, depending on your process. Each field can also be toggled as multi-select, drop-down menu, notes, etc. depending on what you want to capture.
Once you have filled in the relevant information, save the item.
The Draft Editor and In-app Comments
Once a calendar item is created, head to the Draft section on the top right of the calendar item. Here you can use the draft editor to create your content. There's multiple options to embed links, images, videos, and customize the look of your content using markup tools such as bolding or adding headers.
On the right hand side you are able to add followers on the bottom right below the comments section. Adding followers will send notifications to those individuals should you leave any comments. This is helpful to keep conversations about your content in-context.
At the bottom of the draft editor is the word count of your content. This is helpful if you have any content guidelines for each content item. This also helpful for social media posts, such as Twitter which limit how many characters you can publish.
One of the options on the draft editor is the full-screen mode. This helps eliminate the noise around the draft editor to help you focus just on your content as you're writing. Simply click the fullscreen mode once in it to go back to the regular, full-app mode.
To embed an image, video, or leave an asset for someone else in the calendar item workflow, use the asset uploaded at the bottom of the draft page.
There's no limit to the type or size of file that you can upload. Anything uploaded can be downloaded at any time. Once uploaded, the asset will be associated with the calendar item and accessible through the content item itself, or through the asset library
Calendar Item Activity
To stay up-to-date on all actions taken on the calendar item you can view the activity thread. This will show all edits, stage switches, and status updates on the content item.
